Street food, is a real way of living in Shanghai! Chinese people are really greedy, in a good way 🙂 You can eat what you want at anytime in the street! Of course some streets are dedicated to street food but you can order take away and eat in the street almost everywhere, they are a part of the city, at any street corner …I

This is a culinary travel at each corner street ! Even if I like to discover new places, some are my favorite and I go quite (too) often !

  • The famous Shouning lu: You can choose between a snake decapited in front of you (!), scallops, or delicious spices vegetables on the BBQ!

I really liked crawfish, roasted eggplant with garlic, spices vegetables on the BBQ. Then make a stop to treat you with a typical dessert: coconut cream with fresh exotic fruits and tapioca  bubbles. It’s just perfect.

  • Xiao long bao opposite to the Iapm: Pay attention! This is a place kept secret by the shanghaiese people. It is always crowded, at any time. Prepare to queue and wait for a while before tasting these delicious dumplings! I always choose the pork filling. No need to precise that the price is ridiculously low… I recommend to take them away and taste in the lovely park where you can observe chinese people practicing Tai Chi or dancing. A small pic of  the restaurant to make sure you are in the right place 🙂

  • Jiaozi pork leks and pork celery : Oh My God!!! Don’t look at the floor or the lack of decoration, even more if you are sitting in the second room…And please focus on these DELICIOUS Jiaozis ! They are boiled and you will dip them in black vinegar with some chili. I am sooo hungry while writing this now…Ridiculous prices again here…

  • Quin Chuan Lao Wan: Order asian crêpes and sit down in the small restaurant next to it and order pulled porc sandwich (asian way) and sweet savory plum juice! This is just delicious!  But please keep some space in your stomach for later because lots of amazing streefood spots are just around the corner…

  • Dong Tai Xiang: a real treasure! Order steamed and fried dumplings, pork wonton boiled in a delicious bouillon… and then enjoy a dessert with theses black sésame buns! Smooth texture, sweet sesame flavor perfectly dosed … Just divine ! This is one of my favorite treat 🙂

  • Huji potsticles: for delicious potstickers !!!

This place is one of my favorite one !!! Dumplings are fried (…) – my favorite! The filling is soooo tasty and there is this delicious spice aroung that makes all the difference ! To eat without any moderation..

But street food also means that you can discover and learn loads of new things, such as…..a new way to prepare the dumplings !!!
